What is the Springbok?
The springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) is a medium-sized antelope of the family Bovidae, endemic to the arid and semi-arid regions of southern Africa and the sole member of the genus Antidorcas. What the Springbok looks like
Upper body is cinnamon-brown to light reddish-brown; underparts, inner legs, rump, and face are white. A bold dark reddish-brown horizontal stripe runs along each flank, sharply separating the brown back from the white belly. The white face bears a dark brown streak from each eye to the corner of the mouth. A concealed pouch-like fold of skin along the lower back contains a dense crest of long white hair, erected during pronking. Both sexes carry lyre-shaped, strongly ridged black horns.
